Youth Work Learner Voice

 

Following on from the Youth Work Focus group, of which summary details are attached to the right hand side of this page, the College has developed it’s Youth Work provision.

Below are the responses to the feedback gathered from the Youth Work Focus Group held in May 2010. The feedback from the current academic year’s focus groups will be added to this page once the sessions have all been completed.

1. ’Electronic submission of work would be useful’

Learners are able to submit all work electronically to thier tutor.

2. ’Online Evaluation’

A page has been created to allow Youth Work Learners to feedback via the College website.

3. ’Progression Routes’

Learners are now recieving emails about relevant progression routes. All relevant progression routes information is included in the learner course file.

4. ’The College to email learners partway through the course to check thier experience.’

This is currently not in place, during 2011-2012 courses will be monitored and the Sector Administration Assistant will contact learners.

5. ’Focus Groups’

Learners stated that focus groups were an excellent way of bringing learners together; this will be an ongoing evaluation method for College learners. The next focus group is April 2011.

6. Agored Cymru Certificate in Youth Work Level Three

6a. ’Programme planning to be delivered earlier in the course.’

2010-2011 learners now have Programme planning delivered in session 4 as opposed to session 12.

6b. ’ Clearner guidance on assignment writing requirements.’

Documents for 2010-2011 have been updated to include learner recommendations.

6c. ’ Powerpoint Presentations to be included in learner file.’

All tutors have been advised to supply, on request, the powerpoint presentation as a handout, they are not provided in learners file automatically due to ongoing changes to the presentations by the tutor.
