Kathryn Robson has been appointed and announced as the new Deputy Chief Executive for WEA YMCA CC Cymru.
Kathryn, a welsh learner from Pembokeshire, has worked in education for 15 years – three years in higher education at Aberystwyth University in an HR management role, and following that, 11 years in further education at Pembrokeshire College. Responsibilities during that time included HR, Learner Services, Learning Support, Marketing, Admissions and H&S.
On her appointment, Kathryn said, “I am delighted to have been appointed as Deputy Chief Executive at WEA YMCA CC Cymru and be part of an organisation with a strong reputation for delivering quality adult and community learning. My priority during the coming weeks is to get to know the organisation where I would welcome open discussion so I can get a better insight into our strengths and the challenges that we face. Most importantly, I want to know how we can enhance the provision for our learners and support bilingual development opportunities.”
“Our organisation has been through a significant period of change but in the short time I have been here, I have experienced great enthusiasm and commitment to build a positive and successful future for our organisation. My job is to help us to achieve that and to provide our learners with the best possible experience.”
In the coming weeks, Kathryn is looking forward to meeting with staff at all WEA YMCA CC Cymru sites across Wales. “I very much look forward to working with everyone, together with our Council and members to build a successful future for adult learning in Wales.”
