1. Where is the YMCA Wales Community College?
Unlike the majority of further education colleges, the YMCA Wales Community College does not run its courses at a central location. Instead, the College delivers courses at centres within the community. Check the Courses section to find out what’s available in your area.
2. Who does the College run courses for?
The College’s courses are designed for anyone 16 years and over. Some courses cater to a specific age range (e.g. IT For Over 50s) but the majority are very flexible, and open to everyone from school leavers to older learners.
3. What qualifications can I get through the College?
The majority of qualifications available from the College are Agored Cymru certificates. The level varies according to the course. Certain courses carry OCR accreditation and some carry City & Guilds accreditation.
4. How much do courses cost?
The College does not charge for its courses. However, some of the venues where we run our courses do. Contact the venue directly for details on fees. A very small number of courses run by YMCA Wales Community College also have examination or accreditation fees. Please contact us for details.
5. Is there financial help available for students?
The College has a Financial Contingency Fund to help students who need extra support. For more details see the ’College Guide’ in the Brochures category of the Library.
YMCA Wales Community College does offer a limited range of courses through the medium of Welsh, including a number of Youth Work courses. Contact the College for further details.
