City and Guilds 7303 Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS)

If you want to teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector in England (all post 16 education – including FE, adult and community learning, work-based learning and offender education) you will need to complete this introductory qualification as a stepping stone to teaching.

It is anticipated that this qualification will also become compulsory in Wales.

What is the 7303 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector?

The Award is an entry point and introduction for those new to teaching and training or those wishing to teach or train in the Lifelong Learning Sector.

It is the appropriate qualification for those seeking a ‘stepping stone’ to qualifications that entitle them to teach in either an ‘Associate Teacher’ or ‘Full Teacher’ role*. It confers with the newly required ‘threshold license to teach’ in the Further Education (FE) teaching sector.

*Definitions of Associate Teacher and Full Teacher roles in relation to the Lifelong Learning Sector in England are available from the FAQs section on the City & Guilds QTLS microsite, www.cityandguilds.com/qtls, or from www.lluk.org.uk.
